She was so strong that no one could ever break. A woman whose foundation is herself — cold, smart and always ten times ahead, meet a charismatic, logical and impossible to outsmart guy she never imagined.  When people around them find them "perfect imperfect couple" which they were trapped in a wit of game, pride & calling found themselves in a match made in heaven. Matthew's POV.

Best rejection ever.

I never thought I'd lose to a woman twice.

The first time happened back in high school.

The second...

Reese Sanchez.

She was like a gangster—she said whatever came to mind without hesitation. Image? She clearly didn't care about maintaining one.

I took a sip of my coffee as I reread the email Human Resources had sent me.

"We regret to inform you that another candidate has been selected for the Team Leader position. However, we'd like to keep your application on file, as we believe your qualifications may be a strong fit for another role within SIT Corp."

A month later, I walked into SIT Corp. for a very different reason.

"Everyone, I'd like you to meet our new Senior Operations Manager.. Matthew Alarcon."

Her expression changed the moment she saw me.

Confusion.

Disbelief.

Then irritation.

Her lips parted slightly. How is he here? She asked.

Things are getting more interesting.

I smiled.

"I warned you last time not to celebrate too early."

I adjusted my tie before meeting her eyes.

"Looks like fate has a strange sense of humor after all."
