letter #4: to the one who is tired of being strong

dear you,

maybe you've been carrying more than anyone realizes. you're the one everyone thinks is okay because you always manage to smile. you're the one people run to when they need comfort, yet when it's your turn to fall apart, you quietly tell yourself, "i'll be fine." you've become so used to being the strong one that you've forgotten what it feels like to let someone hold your pain, too.

i know you're tired.

tired of pretending that everything is okay when it isn't. tired of saying "i'm okay" because it's easier than explaining everything that's weighing on your heart. tired of carrying responsibilities, expectations, disappointments, and silent battles that no one else seems to notice.

but being strong doesn't mean you have to suffer in silence.

strength isn't measured by how long you can hide your tears. it isn't about carrying every burden alone until you break. sometimes, the strongest thing you can do is admit that you're exhausted. to say, "i can't do this by myself anymore." to let yourself rest without feeling guilty for it.

you don't have to earn rest. you don't have to prove your strength by surviving every storm without asking for help.

you're human. and humans get tired.

it's okay if today isn't productive. it's okay if all you could do was make it through the day. healing isn't a race, and resting isn't giving up.

please be as gentle with yourself as you've been with everyone else. give yourself the same kindness you so freely offer to others. you deserve that kindness, too.

one day, this heaviness won't feel as overwhelming. one day, you'll wake up and realize you've been carrying less than you used to. not because life became easier, but because you finally allowed yourself to put some of the weight down.

so if no one has told you this lately, let me be the one to say it:

you don't always have to be the strong one.

you are allowed to cry.

you are allowed to be vulnerable.

you are allowed to rest.

and no matter how exhausted you feel right now, you are not weak for needing a break. you've carried enough for far too long.

it's okay to let yourself breathe. omkii?

with love,
??
