Bangtan University
the Story of Bangtan University starring the famous kpop group from Korea "BTS"
CHAPTER 1: THE FLOATING KEEPER
The elevator’s glass walls hummed as it climbed past the two-hundredth floor, and the smog-choked sprawl of Neo-Seoul shrank into a glittering mosaic far below. Jeon Jungkook pressed his forehead to the cool surface, his reflection overlapping the endless rows of skybridges, floating wind turbines, and drone traffic weaving through the gray haze. At twenty, he was the youngest applicant ever to reach the final entrance trial for Bangtan University—and he still could not quite believe he had made it this far.
“Nervous?”
The soft voice came from beside him. Kim Taehyung leaned against the rail, his dark uniform embroidered with the university’s seven-pointed star glowing faintly under the cabin lights. He carried no bag, no datapad, only a small, polished stone strung around his neck—an old-world oddity in a world built of alloy and code.
Jungkook pulled his gaze from the view. “More like… scared I’ll wake up. Everyone says no one actually gets inside. That it’s just a myth to keep kids studying too hard.”
“Some myth.” Taehyung nodded toward the view ahead.
As the elevator cleared the cloud layer, the plateau came into view: a massive, artificial landmass anchored to the highest peaks of Mount Bukhan, held aloft by gravity tethers that rippled like silver silk. At its center rose Bangtan University itself—towers of pale crystal and carbon-fiber, ringed by research spires that stretched toward the stars, and a shield dome that shimmered with every color of the spectrum. It did not look like a school. It looked like a key, built to unlock something humanity was not yet ready to face.
The doors slid open. The air here was crisp, free of the city’s metallic tang, and charged with a faint static that made the hairs on Jungkook’s arms stand upright. They stepped out into a vast circular hall where seven paths branched outward, each marked with a glowing symbol: a star, a circuit, a genome helix, a wave, a shield, a compass, and a flame.
“Welcome to the Final Trial,” a voice echoed from everywhere and nowhere at once. “Proceed to the path that calls to you. You will be tested on what you choose to see, not just what you know.”
The other candidates—dozens of the planet’s top prodigies—scattered immediately, rushing toward the paths that matched their fields of study. But Jungkook hesitated. He was an engineer, trained to build and fix systems, yet his gaze kept drifting to the seventh path: the one marked with a flame.
“Go,” Taehyung said gently, already walking toward the star-marked way. “We’ll meet on the other side.”
Jungkook nodded and stepped onto the flame path. The floor beneath him lit up in gold, and the corridor stretched onward, leading him to a chamber that held nothing but a single, floating cube of dark glass.
“You may touch it,” the voice said.
He reached out. The moment his fingers brushed the surface, the room dissolved.
He was no longer standing in a hall. He was floating in the gap between stars. Around him swirled streams of light—data, energy, memory—flowing through a vast, invisible network that spanned the entire galaxy. And somewhere in the dark, something was watching. Something old, and vast, and lonely.
“THE GATE IS UNGUARDED,” a thought pressed against his mind, not spoken in words, but felt in his bones. “THE OTHERS ARE COMING. WILL YOU BUILD A WALL? OR WILL YOU LIGHT THE WAY?”
Images flashed too fast to process: burning cities, ships made of shadow, seven figures standing together in a sea of light, and a single word carved into the fabric of the network: AETHER.
Jungkook realized then that everything he had been taught was wrong. Bangtan University was not here to teach science. It was here to teach them how to listen.
When his vision cleared, he was back in the chamber—but he was not alone. Six others stood around the cube, their eyes still glowing faintly with the same light he had seen.
A young man with a scar across his left eyebrow stepped forward, adjusting the collar of his uniform. “I’m Kim Namjoon. Theoretical physics. You all saw it too, didn’t you? The network? The warning?”
One by one they nodded: Min Yoongi, the quietest of the group, who specialized in quantum encryption; Park Jimin, a bio-neurology prodigy whose hands still trembled slightly; Kim Seokjin, whose work in defense systems had saved three orbital stations; Jung Hoseok, a navigation and strategy expert who was already mapping coordinates in the air with his fingers; and Taehyung, who gave Jungkook a small, knowing smile.
“Then you know what this place really is,” Namjoon said. “They didn’t bring us here to study. They brought us here because we’re the only ones who can understand what’s coming.”
A hologram projected above the cube, showing the university’s seven-pointed star spinning slowly.

The paths leading deeper into the campus lit up all at once. Jungkook looked at the six strangers who had just become his team, his partners, and his only hope. Somewhere above, the Aether hummed, waiting.
He had come here to learn how to build machines. Now he understood—he was here to help build a future.
