Chapter 2
The Message
Three days had passed since her last message.
I tried to forget about it.
I posted normally. I talked to other people. I even laughed at some random posts on my feed.
But every time I opened RPW, I still checked her profile.
Nothing.
No new post.
No story.
No message.
Then, at exactly 11:47 PM, my phone vibrated.
New message.
My heart suddenly jumped.
It was her.
“Are you still awake?”
I stared at the screen for a few seconds before replying.
“Yeah. Why?”
She didn't answer immediately.
Then another message appeared.
“I need to tell you something.”
I typed, “What happened?”
She was typing.
Stopped.
Typing again.
Then finally—
“I didn't leave because I wanted to.”
I frowned.
“What do you mean?”
A few seconds later, she sent another message.
“Someone found out about my RPW account.”
I didn't know what to say.
“Who?”
She replied:
“I can't tell you.”
Then another message came.
“But there's something you should know.”
“What?”
Her reply appeared.
“The reason I followed you first wasn't random.”
I stared at the message.
Before I could ask what she meant, she sent one final text:
“Check your old posts.”
Then she went offline.
I opened my profile and scrolled through my old posts.
And then I saw it.
A comment from months ago.
From an account I didn't recognize.
The username was familiar.
It was hers.
But the strange part?
The comment was posted before we ever met.
