Ghost of you :: act I
Chapter 1

I still visit the places where you no longer exist—your profile, your pictures, the old conversations I promised myself I'd stop reading. Sometimes I type your name into the chat box, just to watch the cursor blink beside words you'll never receive. You're so far away, but still so near. It's strange how someone can leave your life, yet never leave your heart.
There are nights I almost tell you, "I miss you." Not because I want us again, but because a part of me still whispers your name when the world grows quiet. I love you, but I don't want you back because I think it's much better if you love the right person instead of me. And that's okay..
You being happy is all I ever wanted, even if it meant living without mine.
I hope someone finds your hand and never lets it tremble. I hope he loves every piece of you I couldn't keep. And if the price of your forever is that I remain a memory, then I'll carry that ache with gratitude.
Maybe one day, I'll stop looking for you in songs, in sunsets, and in every notification that isn't yours. Maybe one day, missing you will become a story instead of a wound. Until then... I'll keep loving you from a distance, praying that the life I couldn't give you becomes the life someone else proudly will.
We started with a simple hello but ended with a complicated goodbye.
