You Took Long Enough
It took three days to confirm the signal wasn't an error — narrow, impossible, the kind nothing natural should produce.
Another observatory, half a world away, caught the exact same thread.
They couldn't explain it either.
But Callum didn't need an explanation.
He needed considerably less time than anyone else to understand the message, because he'd heard it before — on a lighthouse step, under two skies, a lifetime and a universe ago.
"You took long enough."
He pressed his hand to the cold viewport glass.
It didn't slow.
It didn't stop.
Nothing pulled it back this time.
For the first time in twenty years, Callum let himself believe in something he couldn't touch, couldn't prove, couldn't explain —
Only feel.
She had found him.
After all this time, across every sky between them —
She had finally found him.
